Celebrating Carers Week 2020
11 June 2020
This week we are sending a thank you gift to unpaid carers who support PerCurra clients.

Providing support for a vulnerable partner or friend makes you an unpaid carer. It can be stressful, exhausting and lonely. Carers Week highlights the challenges that are faced by unpaid carers and recognises the contribution they make.
Within the households of many of our PerCurra clients there are the people providing support when our professional care staff are not there. Particularly during the Covid crisis, many people have had to take on more caring responsibilities. So to celebrate Carers Week we are sending out a gift to the wonderful individuals who have been helping in this way. We have arranged for delicious hand-baked cakes made by Lizzie at Luckraft Cakes to be posted out to them.
PerCurra founder and Managing Director Gill Heppell said: "The COVID-19 pandemic can be terrifying for the vulnerable people we provide our services to - and for their families who care for them. They can't just cut themselves off from the world by 'shielding'. they have accepted our staff into their home while we reassure them and take every precaution to keep them safe. The 'letterbox cakes' we are sending out are a little thank you to acknowledge their support during lockdown."

Here we are – it's definitely winter and we are experiencing on and off freezing conditions. Typical British weather – damp and drizzly one day and hard frosts or snow the next. There are many things we can do to stay warm and well but this can be much harder for older and vulnerable people so they may need some help.
