22 November 2019
In its first inspection by the Care Quality Commission, our branch in Southend-on-Sea has been rated Good overall. This means people are supported, treated with dignity and respect and involved as partners in their care.

The CQC report was published on 25th September following inspection on 2nd September. Users of the service, their relatives and PerCurra staff were contacted. The CQC Inspector also reviewed PerCurra’s policies and procedures.
PerCurra Southend’s business owner Jenny Lilley said: “We are very pleased to be awarded a Good rating by CQC. Delivering an excellent standard of service to our clients is extremely important to us. The Inspector’s Report gives examples of clients and staff praising our efforts and states that we have procedures in place to run a safe and effective service. We shall continue to offer excellent, flexible care services to adults in the Southend, Leigh and Westcliffe areas who need support to live safely and happily in their own homes.”
Inspections by the Care Quality Commission cover five key areas, asking the questions: Is the service safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led? PerCurra Southend received the Good rating in all five.

Here we are – it's definitely winter and we are experiencing on and off freezing conditions. Typical British weather – damp and drizzly one day and hard frosts or snow the next. There are many things we can do to stay warm and well but this can be much harder for older and vulnerable people so they may need some help.
