Winners at the Great British National Care Awards 2011
PerCurra Care Assistant Crowned Best in BritainPerCurra's Angela Parker was crowned the best Home Care Worker in the UK on Saturday night.
Care Assistant, Angela, won the best Home Care Worker category at the Great British National Care Awards Final held in London on Saturday 14th May 2011.
After impressing Awards judges with her dedication, expertise and exemplary attitude at the East Midlands Regional Awards last year, Angela was called for a second round of judging and invited to attend the prestigious Finals and Gala Dinner held at London’s Royal Courts of Justice. She was presented with the category trophy by TV presenter Kate Garraway.
Angela has worked in the care sector for 28 years. When she was just 13 years old her mother suffered from a stroke and Angela became her carer. After leaving school she went on to work for the NHS, Social Services and PerCurra.
Angela said: “I do it because I love it. I believe in treating everyone as individuals and with great respect. It has been wonderful to receive this recognition at a national event and share the moment with my colleagues and other people who feel as strongly about the caring profession as I do.”
Saturday night was a double celebration for PerCurra as we were finalists for the Care Employer Award (less than 250 employees).
