EVERY member of staff, no matter what position held within the company is vetted to the following standards:-
Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check [CRB]:- this is a process which is conducted by a government agency to check the employees prior to employment. The information gathered on an individual is direct from the Police National Computer and then from the local police force.
References: - All staff has their references requested and reviewed to their suitability for the post.

The following glossary has been compiled to help our clients familiarise themselves with the most common words, terms and phrases used within the Care Industry.
Care Coordinator
The person responsible for organising Care Worker rotas and the general handling of customer/client enquiries.
Care Manager
Oversees and is responsible for the Care Workers, quality of care, supervising staff, training staff, and managing the office amongst other things.
Care Provider
A company or charity (big or small) who provides a care service to individuals
Carer
Someone who looks after a person or family without payment; usually means a partner, parent, sibling or friend
Client
Someone who uses our services; also called a service user
CRB
Criminal Records Bureau, in England, the body that reports on criminal convictions.
CQC
Care Quality Commission; Statutory body in England who regulate and inspect care providers to ensure compliance with regulations [previously known as CSCI [Commission for Social Care Inspection)
Direct Payments
A way of paying for care. Instead of Social Services choosing who gives the care, this allows a person to choose for themselves who can look after them
Domiciliary
At home or in the home
Field care supervisor
Supervises Care Workers and assesses Service Users to make sure care given is appropriate
Independent Living Fund
Can be a source of funding for people with disabilities to enable them to pay for any care and support they may need
NVQ / SVQ
National Vocational Qualification / Scottish Vocational Qualification; can be in many subjects and up to NVQ level 4
PCT
Primary Care Trust; 1 of the 2 types of NHS trusts; in charge of funding for hospitals and social care within a certain geographical area
Police Check
A report on any criminal convictions undertaken by the Criminal Records Bureau or Disclosure Scotland.
Practical Support
Support where help is given with the everyday practical things; like getting up each day, or going to the shops.
Rehabilitation
Helping people who have been out of the usual ‘society’ for any number of reasons, including drug addiction, Mental Health illness or long term physical illness, cope with everyday life
Respite Care
Where a care worker or someone else provides care, enabling the carer to take a break (can be days or weeks)
Sensory Impairments
A term used to describe a situation where one or more of the senses are not working as they should
Service User
A health or social care term for someone who receives the care
Social Services
Department of the local authority (Council) that deals with all elements of services relating to care, amongst other issues
UKHCA
United Kingdom Home Care Association; an association of care providers (not just PerCurra) that gives guidance to care providers and members also represents member s to press, government
